New Tailgate Cover for Pickup Trucks Features Lustran Polymers Product

 

Lustran^® 752 provides strength and comfort to The TaleGator™

Addyston (Cincinnati), OH – February 5, 2007 – Owners of full and midsized pickup trucks have a new comfortable seating option when tailgating, hunting or picnicking. The TaleGator™ is a thermal-formed custom seating option that is manufactured using high-gloss Lustran^® 752 ABS from the Lustran Polymers business unit of LANXESS Corporation.

The TaleGator tailgate cover, which includes two seats, two beverage holders and a storage tray, is designed with an air pocket for comfortable seating without the need for a cushion. It is easy to install, offering both permanent and removable attachment methods, and can fit over an existing bed liner or directly onto the sheet metal.

“The Lustran material gives The TaleGator excellent durability, especially with its good resistance to salt spray and the black color’s resistance to ultraviolet light,” said Keith V. Leigh-Monstevens, director of Automotive Sales and Marketing for Tale-Gator Distributors LLC. “Plus it is easy to machine for trimming, lightweight and can be recycled.”

The current TaleGator product fits all full-size pickup trucks and can easily be trimmed to fit mid-sized models. The company has also developed a prototype for small and flare-side trucks that have a smaller back end.

The TaleGator tailgate cover has recently received much recognition, winning an International Award for New Product at SEMA and earning a finalist spot in the 2006 SPE Innovation Awards. The product was also a big attraction at the first Tailgating-Picnic show, held last November in Las Vegas.
